Hi, I’m Moira

After more than two decades working as an interior designer, I found myself drawn back to something more instinctive - a renewed love for colour, texture, and creative expression.

In 2021, my family and I moved to a small seaside village on Ireland’s Atlantic coast. Surrounded by the changing light, movement of the sea, and the quiet rhythm of coastal life, something shifted. Painting became not just a creative outlet, but a new direction.

My Work

I create textured oil and acrylic paintings inspired by the Atlantic coastline - its movement, atmosphere, and ever-changing moods.

When I paint, I work intuitively, allowing each piece to evolve naturally. It’s a process of letting go - of quieting the mind and responding to colour, texture, and feeling.

My aim is not to recreate a specific place, but to capture the sense of it - the calm, the energy, the depth of the landscape. Each painting is an expression of how the coast feels to me, rather than how it looks.

The Journey

What began as a personal shift has become a deeply meaningful part of my life. Painting allows me to express things that words cannot - moments of stillness, movement, and connection.

My work is currently exhibited at Kilbaha Gallery on the Loop Head Peninsula, where it sits within the landscape that continues to inspire it.

For the Viewer

I hope my paintings bring a sense of calm, presence, and connection - something that resonates quietly over time.

Each piece is created to live with you, to be experienced differently as light changes and moments pass.
